How long does it take for eyelashes and eyebrows to grow back after chemo? Does anything help them to grow?

I didn't lose my lashes and brows until I was almost done with chemo and they came out in waves. So they thinned a lot. I didn't notice the brows were coming out actually until they started growing back in b/c they were darker. My lashes were totally gone for a few weeks and since I was finishing up with chemo, they came back shortly after. Both are back now (was done end of sept). My hair is about 4 inches long. Best wishes to you

I have an appt. with a dermatogist Wed. for a rash (chemo related) and I was going to ask her about Latisse. But if it doesn't help then I won't. I can't wait for my hair to come back. I miss shampooing and combing it :-)

I ended chemo in late January by mid March I had eyebrows and lashes again. Not the way they were before chemo but they are slowly getting there.

My eyebrows and lashes became thin but I never completely lost them. Unfortunately, the lashes grew back, sparsely but my eyebrows.... not so much. Take care, Sharon

It is a prescription eyelash grower and thickener.

Unfortunately mine never grew back (I had chemo four years ago). I looked like I was still going through chemo long after I finished. Finally two years ago I gave in and had permanent makeup done (tattoos) on my eyebrow line and eyeliner to lessen the stark look. The liner did not 'take' they said because of the chemo. Now I have just been diagnosed with a recurrence and am hoping when I finish, my hair, eyebrows and lashes will all grow back this time. Taxotere was the culprit. Hopefully yours will grow back fine.

I hope too that your lashes and brows will grow back after chemo. I'm on Abraxane. I have three more to go...last one May8th. My lashes and brows have thinned out quite a bit but there are still sparce hair.

Ten years ago I lost lashes and brows after taxol. Yes, they did grow back in slowly. They never have been as full as before, maybe due to my post menopausal age or maybe due to arimidex. Estrogen helps hair quality and we can't do that.

I'm also postmenaposal. Thanks for answering my question. Now I'll lower my expectations about my lashes and brows growing back.

Yes it is fairly possible to grow back eyelashes after chemo...But for this try to use some top rated eyelash enhancers that contains all natural and safe ingredients...These are safe for use and doesn't cause any serious side effects like falling, tingling and burning sensation....Know more about them here:

Similarly to head hair loss, your chances of losing your eyelashes and brows largely depends on the type of chemotherapy you receive. eyelashes will grow back but it take a time to grow back. read more about this topic here .. http://www.thebeautyinsiders.com/chemo-cream-has-more-uses-than-treating-cancer.html

I have used latisse since I finished chemo. It helped but I still lost my eybrows twice after they came in. 9 months later my eyelashes are great my eyebrows are thin but better. I don't know if it was the taxotere or the cytoxan .

Thanks so much for your answer. It's good to know ahead what could happen. The onocologist and treatment nurse keep reassuring me everything will go back to pre-chemo condition. I'll try Latisse after I finish chemo. Thanks again! Jayme
