If I have a bilateral mastectomy with no reconstruction, how long is full recovery for an active lifestyle, for example, hiking and swimming?

I was ready to go back to work after 4 weeks with restrictions for no lifting, so I would estimate that you could resume those activities after 6 weeks. But you should check with your surgeon to be sure.

I had bmx without reconstruction (I can't until after radiation.) I stayed with patents for 3 weeks to recover. I could function fine, only pain still under armpit from some nerve damage. I could not swim yet. I was at work a month after operation with lifting restriction.
