What is the survival rate if the lymph nodes are involved?

      (continued) I have been diagnosed with stage 3a. I had a mastectomy on my right side. I had 2 lymph nodes involved. I was told I would need chemo and radiation. I don't really want radiation, it seems so harsh and harmful to the body. Do you know of anyone choosing to opt out of radiation?

      Hi, I'm stage 3a also but I had a skin sparing double mastectomy (which is not the same as nipple sparing) and it is possible to have a recurrence on the skin. Perhaps talk to your rad onc and get more info if you are concerned about side effects...

      Hi, I'm stage 3a also but I had a skin sparing double mastectomy (which is not the same as nipple sparing) and it is possible to have a recurrence on the skin. Perhaps talk to your rad onc and get more info if you are concerned about side effects perhaps you can make a case for fewer treatments. At our stage prevention of recurrence is key. But in the end it's your body and your decision. I'm still undergoing chemo which will be followed by rads in the spring some time. Best of luck!
