By chance, are any of you taking Zoloft while on Tamoxifen? My Docs all know that I take Zoloft and haven't said I shouldn't take it, but I just read information stating that zoloft may lessen the body's ability to convert the tamox into its active form.

I have always found my best information about drugs, and / or drug interactions have come from my pharmacist. Give them a call and talk to them, they know more about drugs than your doctor does.

Oops sorry posted too soon. My oncologist prescribed tamoxifen when I was first diagnosed with breast cancer but had me see an "oncological psychiatrist" to switch me from Paxil to Lexipro. Apparently medications like Paxil are processed in the liver as tamoxifen is and they can make them both less effective. Lexipro is somehow metabolized differently. Ask your oncologist about this. I am not sure if Zoloft is processed the same way.8
