Learning About Breast Cancer
It should be easier, Dawn. I've had replacement implants and the surgery was much shorter and, on one occasion, I didn't even have a drain. Good luck to you!

I measure my water intake the four days after chemo. The cocktail I take gives me three things before chemo starts. And they have each of my side effects matched to something. This means I track it: day I and two I take nothing. Day 3&4 I take three things and day five and six I take one and then I'm done. I sorted this out with them. Round two was much easier to tolerate And becuase i felt a bit better i ate more variety. My counts were good cause I ate beet root Brussels sprouts broccoli asparagus and hormone free meat. All of these things help fight cancer but are linked to improve blood counts.
WBC and pl were impacted the worst by first round.
Hydrate to clear it out of your system quickly. drink and pee. Repeat.
I'm sure your team will work with fixing the problem and your mix for you

Stage 1 PatientI only had a unilateral mastectomy and had 2 drains. I went to a speciality shop and got what they call a postsurgical camisole that has 2 pockets for holding drainage bags that attaches to the camisole by velcro.
Comment 1You sound pretty prepared! I didn't wear any type of bra because there is nothing there but skin flaps left for reconstruction. Take your pain meds as prescribed. Don't let the pain get in front if you! You got this!!!! I just stuffed my drain tubes (3) in comfy pants/shirts pockets. Just held...

Just held them in my lap in the shower, hubby washed my hair and body until I could raise my arms.

Survivor since 2011Yes I had it. It was the best choice for me. I'm very happy with the results. I don't think the rehab was that bad. It is a BIG surgery and takes about a month to re coup and be back to most of your regular life.

Yes you are using your belly fat. The pro is its your own tissue. The con is there is a longer recovery time.

Yes it is a new procedure and they do during surgery. It is a one time radiation treatment right after they remove the tumor. Radiation is only given the the tumor location and not the whole breast.

I may be wrong, but I don't think that is for invasive bc. Anyway, my radiologist said that this , and also the three week protocol were not options for me. My mother had a small noninvasive bc, and was able to have radiation twice a day for 4 or 5 days. Not all ways of giving radiation are best...

Learning About Breast CancerAs I recall from my days working as a Mammography Tech. Birads cat. 3 simply means they saw something, that is benign appearing, and recheck in 6 months to make sure it is stable. That may not be quite the wording, but pretty close I'm sure. Learning About Breast CancerI didn't lose mine till after I was done. They did grow right back in. But yes. It was time consuming as I was not very good at it. Took a lot of practice. I eventually said "forget this" and started using the extending mascara from loreal. Prayers to you.
Comment 2I didn't even try. If I had anything special diring that time I would have given it a whirl or gone to a make up person.

I don't, but in the meantime, ask for a social service referral at your Oncology Center to see if they might provide guidance with dealing with the insurance company. If you have coverage I don't see how they can refuse treatment for cancer! Also, call the American Cancer Society and ask them how you should proceed. I am sure there is a challenge process whereby you can ask to speak to the insurance supervisor, go up the chain of command, etc. You shouldn't have to be dealing with this at such a time. Burns me up!
Is there a family member who can help with this? Write down everything and include names of reps you speak with.
Ya gotta fight cancer AND the insurance company. Not right!! Good Luck.
