Family Member or Loved OneI would be asking/demanding an ultrasound, needle biopsy, and an MRI. This is kind of sounding a little wishy-washy. I would be asking for a difinitive diagnosis. Is it or is it not breast cancer? Only a look at individual cells can say. Take care, Sharon

Hmmm havent heard that. That would be a great question to ask the radiologist that read you the mammogram results.

Family Member or Loved OneThey are both relevant but it seems that grade has more significance than stage.
Comment 0Virginia,
I would be more concerned about the grade. It is indicitive as to how aggressive the cells are. No doubt about it, they are both important in the treatment of your particular breast cancer. Take care, Sharon

Family Member or Loved OneI had a lumpectomy in Oct with a port placement. Very minimal pain - the port placement was worse then the lumpectomy, and both were minimal. I took a week off of work but was really up and around in about three days.
Comment 1I did not have a port. I did have lymph nodes removed though. I was back at work in three days. The lymph node removal caused the most pain, the lumpectomy was virtually painless. Praying your mothers surgery goes well with little or no discomfort.

Family Member or Loved OneI was also diagnosed with Stage 1, Grade 3 Triple Negative. The stage refers to how advanced the cancer is (whether it has spread to lymph nodes, how large the tumor is). The grade refers to how abnormal or "ugly" the cancer cells look. Grade 3 means they look least like a normal cell. So, yes...

Stage 2B PatientMorgan,
I wish there were magical words to take away your pain. No one can come close to identifying with your feelings you are going through right now. Those Mommy urges just don't melt away especially when your many friends are starting their families. It is just a constant reminder of where...
Morgan,
I wish there were magical words to take away your pain. No one can come close to identifying with your feelings you are going through right now. Those Mommy urges just don't melt away especially when your many friends are starting their families. It is just a constant reminder of where you wanted to be right now. I am so sorry for this additional pain.... heaped on top of going through this lousy treatment. Don't give up on your dream.... you never know there could still be babies in your future. Hang in there and much love from all of us. Big hugs loving hugs, MaMa Sharon
Totally and completely know how you feel. There are 4 different woman I work with who are currently expecting. It's rough to see everyday even though I am extremely happy for them.

Stage 2A PatientBy any chance are you taking Zofran for nausea? It can cause wicked headaches. Feel better soon!
2 comments 0It never gave me a headache. I know it causes body aches. I took Claratin the day before, the day of and 2 days after the Neulasta and it really helped a lot with the aches and pains.

For me, one of the most comforting things was having my family around me. Support and encouragement are so important! Don't forget to take care of yourself. You've already gone through one round of cancer with your mom. Going through another, when you thought the cancer was gone, is fearful for everyone.
I sure your mom is comforted by your support. My daughters were there for me and it gave me the most secure and loved feeling. What tpye of bc did your mom have. Did she have a 5 year therapy?

Call your doctor, who will tell the radiologist and radiation department. Your doctor may send them additional information or orders regarding your next mammogram. Best of luck to you.

Here I am 6 months later Lumpectomy radiation & tamoxifen. You can't play with cancer. Early detection is key.

Survivor since 2012Evvie I found you on Facebook but the "send friend request" option did not show so I think your settings will need to be adjusted before people can send you a request. I am Vicki everhart with a profile picture of my terrier dog. Maybe you can send me a request?
