I have had vision changes, but I do not know if it is from the Herceptin, Taxol or later Taxetere. Hard to say with so many things being pumped into my body. My oncologist told me vision changes are normal during chemo and don't get new glasses til chemo a few months after chemo is finished.

Not with Herceptin but with the chemo with Taxol and now with Femara.

Herceptin has been FDA approved since 1998 and there is a very good movie called living proof about the doctor who found the protein.

Have you had your VitaminD levels checked? Vitamin D deficiency can cause achy bones. You may want to have all labs checked to see about all vitamin levels and calcium. It may be something that simple. Good luck to you and keep us posted.

Atrial fibrillation is actually very common with age. Most people get it for reasons related to high blood pressure, valve disease, coronary artery disease, lung disease, alcohol use or thyroid problems. If one of those were to blame, you and your doctor would most likely already know that you had the risk factor. But up to 1-3 out of every 10 people with atrial fibrillation had no risk factor for Afib.
Be optimistic! There are lots of options for atrial fibrillation treatment and in many patients it can be fixed.
These are the same drugs I have taken and am still taking Herceptin and have so far not experienced any problems with my heart. My oncologist sends me every three months for an echo to keep a close watch for any possible damage.

I would recommend navigatecancerfoundation.org for excellent answers to questions like this. The nurse I speak with has been an oncology nurse for 29 years and answers are usually back within a day. It is sponsored by LIVESTRONG, no charge to cancer patient. Let us know!

I get dizzy & lightheaded also my eyesight has deteriated I get sores in my nose and I am always tired, lately I have been falling over a lot as well which I am told is due to tiredness which makes the dizziness worse. I have been on Herceptin every 3 weeks for the past 3 years and no signs of anything changing. I have heard most symptoms go away you finish having Herceptin. Good luck!
No dizziness and lightheadedness but I have had slightly blurred vision which I believe is a side effect. Also, a runny nose.

Sue, I sure can understand how it could be very depressing to watch the other types of breast cancer women walk out the door. Your oncologist's office probably has some recommendations for support groups in your area where you could meet a pal who is dealing with the same issues you are having. When I was going through treatment, there was a young woman on the other side of the states who was a horse-gal, just like me. We had a great time emailing each other even though she was young enough to be my daughter. It was so welcome to find somebody else who was in the "same leaky boat" as I was. It made the treatment time much easier to take. You just need a "chemo-pal." This has become a way-too-common disease to there are lots of us out there. I would try to find a support group and maybe one person who you just click with. . Be sure and talk to your doctor and Onco. nurses about how you are feeling. Ask them if they can point you in the direction of a support group. You sound like a very social person and needs some buddies. Take care and big healing hugs. Sharon

I am actually going for a ct scan tomorrow due to some dizziness/headache on & off, hoping its nothing! I also have a runny nose for a couple weeks after the treatment and a cough/sore throat the night of treatment. I finished with chemo in November and hoping my last herceptin will be in June!

I have dizziness, tiredness, runny nose that suddenly dries up and hurts, brittle nails I have also put on weight and the fatigue is frustrating you want to exercise but it is just so hard! But it has kept me stable for 3 years so far so its worth it.

This is a legitimate and important question and you need to ask it. Write down your questions before you call the office,( they will probably have to call you back.) but make your call immediately! You don't need to spend any more time worrying about these lab results. You go girl!
